I suppose this topic falls somewhat outside the theme of this blog. On the other hand, to run Grandma's Marathon (grandmothers are girls...), and with my mom in attendance as well as Katie and the four girls, it's still somewhat topical. In fact, the highlight was having three generations of the girls in my family all there--- very special. (note: Katie's mom also made it to town, but due to cellular network outages, we weren't able to meet until well after the race)

Looking good Kris! I don't know how anyone does one thing for that long...except if they are on a bike :-)
Congrats on running the marathon. You and Peter are making the rest of us cousins look bad. Maybe one of these days I'll try my luck at running a marathon. Say hi to the family.
Kris - Congragulations! You are an inspiration - running a marathon at your age! But really, you show us that it's not too late to whip our butts into shape and run.
way to go Kris. and look at you squatting down next to your daughter right after you finished!
Congrats, Kris! John was taken aback when I told him you came in 5,272nd place. So pick up the pace, next time.
There *is* a next time, yes?
Well, my friend Eric Wood tells me that only 1/10th of 1% of all people ever run a marathon. So based on the world population at this moment, I'm actually in about 6.5 millionth place.
Out of 6.5 billion.
Heh...talk about elite. So there!
